claypool welcomes all levels of potters from people who just like to dabble to those who pot professionally

Claypool offers an ongoing membership which provides access to the studio’s facilities for professional and amateur potters, ceramicists and sculptors working in clay. Members have unlimited use of the studio, 7 days a week, 8am till late.

Price: $450/quarter ($150/month)

Daily drop-ins can attend 7 days a week, between the hours of 10am and 5pm when there is someone on duty.

Prices: $50/day or $25/half day (up to 3 hours)

We have 4 electric kilns of various sizes, which are operated by our skilled technicians, available to members, drop-ins and outside firers. We offer communal kiln service, or you can book a whole kiln.  Please note we only do stoneware and porcelain firings (high fire, 1260 degrees), no earthenware unless a whole kiln is booked.

Communal kiln prices:
Members – $10 per kilo
Non-members and daily drop-ins – $17 per kilo
Prices include bisque and glaze firings

Individual kiln hire is also available to the public (prices on request)


We hold regular wheel throwing and hand building classes throughout the year.
Prices range from $250 – $350 (Includes Clay, Glazes, Tools and Firing)

We offer one-on-one wheel throwing lessons, day or evening, 7 days a week.
1 person: $60/hour (plus clay and firing)
2+ people: $40 pp/hour
